Bromadiolone is a second generation anticoagulant rodenticide that inhibits the vitamin K dependent steps in synthesis of clotting factors. It belongs to the 4-hydroxycoumarin class of anticoagulants and is a pesticide intended to control commensal rodents (Norway rat, roof rat, and house mice) in and around areas containing stored products, buildings and inside of transport vehicles. In many countries, it has been marketed as a “second generation anticoagulant”, a designation that it shares with Difenacoum, Brodifacoum, and Difethialone.
